An inspiration I found out on a walk in my Woodland Hills neighborhood with my daughter. Quiet suburbs are always fascinating. Calm and tranquil - but you just can’t help but think that there is an underlying mystery to it all. The towering trees and telephone poles add a great compositional element against the long flat mid century houses. I chose the longer panel size in order to be able to capture the space and length of the houses.

Calm and tranquil but you just can’t help but think that an underlying mystery to it all. Of course the towering trees and telephone poles always add a great compositional element. As a child I loved (and still do) the movie The Burbs with Tom Hanks. Maybe that’s where my fascination with quiet suburban landscapes began.
