This painting is about reflections. On the surface it is about the object in the painting, a chair, reflected in a hall of mirrors. A deeper dive helped me see it as a metaphor for the the reflections of our own lives - and the reflections left behind after we have changed.

During the creation of this painting, I had been watching the original Twin Peaks series. Some of David Lynch’s color choices and surrealistic atmosphere had an influence on my creativity at that time. He had such a way of distilling beauty and emptiness into his images.
