There are a number of streets in my neighborhood that are perfectly aligned west to east. At the right time of day, the sun comes beaming through distant trees and skips across the ground, creating these wonderful long, crawling shadows. It’s a fleeting moment where the leading edge of the shadows is at its longest, but it’s such a cool phenomenon that I really wanted to capture it in a painting.
